The Season Finale!

Dear WTUC Family,

I hope that you had a wonderful week. We’re just about to hit the weekend, but we’re looking at a couple of nasty storms rolling through Saturday. Please stay safe, and hopefully things will be calmer by Sunday.

We’re coming to what we call in the television business the “season finale”. Since WTUC has an actual summer break in July and August, our Closing Sunday service is like the season finale for us. It’s a time for us to bring this year to a close and reflect upon God’s faithfulness during that time. We’ve got a lot planned this Sunday. First, we will be worshiping in person in Room 105 of Japan Lutheran College and Theological Seminary beginning at 11:00 a.m. We will observe the Lord’s Supper during the service. Following the service, we are going to begin our time of fellowship. For those who come to our services regularly, we ask that you bring finger food or a snack that we are able to share. We will then begin our Congregational Meeting that the Steering Committee has called - it will be a meeting where you can eat your lunch while the Steering Committee and I present some important information, reflections, and what may be coming up in the next season in September. I ask that you prayerfully prepare your hearts and pray for all that will take place on Sunday. You can get a calendar reminder here.

During the summer break, we encourage you to continue your spiritual journey by getting connected to other congregations during the time we are not gathering. You can join services online at Tokyo Union Church (Sundays at 11:00 a.m.) or at Yokohama Union Church (Sundays at 10:30 a.m.). Mitaka Lutheran Church will be gathering in Brown Hall at 9:30 a.m. Sundays, and so you can also join them for services in Japanese.
