Autumn Greetings

Hello, WTUC Family!

It’s been a few weeks since I have sent greetings. I hope that you are doing well and that you are feeling a bit cooler after the intense rain that has moved through Tokyo the past couple of days. Hopefully you haven’t gotten too drenched!

It was wonderful to see you this past Sunday for worship when we were able to gather again after a couple of months being on summer break. I hope that you were able to enjoy your summer and that you had a chance to really grow and flourish in Christ during that time. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to have another year serving as pastor for West Tokyo Union Church - particularly during our 60 year anniversary! God is faithful, and we are thankful that the Lord is using us to be a part of this incredible story of faith, hope, and love.

This coming Sunday, we will be gathering online via Zoom at 11:00 a.m. for our worship service. I will be preaching on a message titled “Wonderfully Merciful”. I hope that you are able to join us. You can find the link and information regarding the service on our calendar page.

We are excited to announce our Youth Program for the upcoming 2025-26 WTUC year! Ann Tang and Luyi Chen are leading this effort for an exciting opportunity for the youth in our community. This includes both a weekly Bible study and a monthly in-person event! This builds off of a successful summer Youth Retreat that we had at the end of July. If you are interested in joining, please email Ann Tang at membership@wtuc.net to register and get more information!

As we begin our 60 year anniversary, there are so many aspects of our celebration that also require your involvement. What stories can you share about God’s faithfulness over the past 60 years in the life of our church? Where can you serve during this celebratory year? How can you envision seeing WTUC in the upcoming weeks, months, and years? All these things involve you. Over the next several months, we will be exploring these questions, and I would love to be able to hear from you. Feel free to reach out at any time on our contact page to let us know where you would like to be involved!

I hope that you have a wonderful rest of the week, and I look forward to worshiping with you again this Sunday!

Blessings,
Jonathan
