Let There Be Peace
Dear WTUC Family,
I hope that you are enjoying the fresh shot of fall weather that showed up Friday. It looks like we’re making the transition to autumn now, and hopefully that means we’ll be seeing less intense heat going forward for the season.
As we see changes in the season, we continue to see changes in our world - changes that are not always to the benefit for those around us. As we see the world seemingly becoming more unstable, let us pray for peace, and let us be agents of peace. One of the markings of being followers of Christ is our desire to live in truth and love. May the Lord humble our hearts and seek the welfare of where we live, being salt and light by honoring God and declaring the grace and mercy that is granted only through Jesus Christ.
Coming up this Sunday, we’re going to be gathering in person on the campus of Japan Lutheran College and Theological Seminary in Room 105. Our guest preacher will be Rev. Debbie Umipig-Julian, who is serving as a missionary in Japan and has been assisting with services at Yokohama Union Church. She has preached at WTUC before and may be familiar to many who have been at the Women’s Conference. For more on this Sunday’s service, you can check out the details here.
As a reminder, we have started up a new Youth Program at WTUC, and our first in-person monthly gathering is coming up soon! Make sure to connect with Ann Tang at membership@wtuc.net to get more information!
I pray that you will have a blessed rest of the week in Christ.
Jonathan
