Calling all youth!
Dear WTUC Family,
After some April (heavy) showers, we’re starting to see some May flowers - if they haven’t blown away from the strong winds that have pushed through the area. I hope that you are having a great start to the month of May, and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
I wanted to take a moment to call your attention to our upcoming WTUC Summer Youth Camp. Under the leadership of Ann Tang, Luyi Chen, and Misae Urata, our pilot program last year has now developed into a full program for this upcoming summer! We want to make sure that as many youth from our area are able to participate. The first step is letting the youth know that the camp is taking place! Check out the web page for the summer camp, and send the link to parents and youth ages 12-18 so that they get a chance to register. We think this will be an amazing opportunity for us to reach our community through a fun summer experience. If there are any questions, you can email youthcamp@wtuc.net for more information.
This Sunday, we are going to be gathering in person on the campus of Japan Lutheran College and Theological Seminary in Room 105 with our service starting at 11:00 a.m. We are going to be hearing a message on how our King leads His Church. We will be observing the Lord’s Supper during the service. For those who attend regularly, we ask that you bring a snack or finger food to share during our time of fellowship after the service. For more details on this Sunday’s service, you can check out the details here.
I wanted to ask again for Scripture readers during our upcoming joint service with Mitaka Evangelical Lutheran Church for Pentecost Sunday, May 24! If you are able to read a passage in a language other than English, please let me know at pastor@wtuc.net so that I can schedule you in. This is an annual tradition that we have enjoyed - hearing Acts 2 read in all different languages.
I hope that you have a wonderful rest of the week, and I will see you on Sunday!
Blessings,
Jonathan
