Giving Thanks for our Mothers

Dear WTUC Family,

I hope that you have a wonderful Golden Week. It is nice to be able to have moments of rest for opportunities to recharge and reconnect.

I wanted to take a moment to recognize all of the mothers in our WTUC family. As we approach Mother’s Day this Sunday, we take this moment each year to recognize the immense impact that mothers have in the life of our community. I believe that the Lord created this important role in our lives to remind of us who gave us life - because every single one of us had a mother who gave birth to us. Some of us may have been raised by our biological mothers, while others had mothers who are not biologically linked to us, or others who have loved and cared for us, serving in a motherly role - including spiritual ones. Some of us may be mothers themselves. In all of these things, we give thanks for their incredible love, sacrifice, and care that shaped us and our communities.

This Sunday, we are going to be gathering online via Zoom starting at 11:00 a.m. for our worship service. Rev. Dr. Paul Shew will be continuing his series on Authentic Faith. Please come join us as we worship our amazing, loving God. More details can be found here.

A reminder that we are looking for Scripture readers for our Pentecost joint service with Mitaka Evanglical Lutheran Church on May 24. If you are able to read for us in a language other than Japanese or English, please email me as soon as possible (pastor@wtuc.net) so that we can have you scheduled.

Also, our WTUC Youth Camp web page is up and ready to accept registrations! Please share this link with those around you because we would love to have as many kids come as we can handle. If you have questions, please contact youthcamp@wtuc.net!

Blessings on the rest of your week!
Jonathan
