Thankful to God for you
Dear WTUC Family,
I hope that you had a wonderful week. I wanted to simply take a moment to tell you that I am thankful to God for you. Over the past year and a few months, my calling to serve West Tokyo Union Church has been filled with much joy, and this community is one that truly reflects our Lord’s command - for us to love one another, and through that, the world will know that we are His disciples. Thank you for your continued care for our family, and we praise God for His faithfulness to WTUC for the past 60 years. It truly is a blessing for us to continue this witness that started over a generation ago.
I wanted to write a special thanks to all who joined in our Thanksgiving Fellowship this past Sunday. I am so grateful to all of you for being there. Special Thanks to Ann Tang for serving as our host for this special event. Let us continue to give thanks to the Lord for the faithfulness He has shown to us.
Coming up this Sunday, we welcome back Rev. Dr. Paul Shew, who will now be regularly preaching for us once a month through the rest of our WTUC calendar year. We will be meeting online at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom. Visit here for more details.
On a separate note, on Sunday, December 7 at 5 p.m. , our sister congregation, Tokyo Union Church, will be holding a Blue Christmas service. Blue Christmas is a quiet, contemplative service focused on finding Christmas hope and joy even amid great personal struggles. There will be candlelight, Scripture readings, chants from the Taizé Community, prayer, and time for silent reflection. This service will be held live and live-streamed at tokyounion.org. All are welcome.
I hope that you have a wonderful rest of the week!
Blessings,
Jonathan
