Now Thank We All Our God
Dear WTUC Family,
I hope that you have had a good week. We are certainly feeling more of the cooler temperatures with the approaching winter season, and so I hope that you are staying healthy in the midst of the continued change in our weather.
This coming Sunday, we will be taking a particular focus on Thanksgiving. We will be gathering in person on the campus of Japan Lutheran College and Theological Seminary in Room 105 for our worship service beginning at 11:00 a.m. We will be hearing a message about how we are Wonderfully Thankful. After our service, we will be moving over to Ann Tang’s house for a special Thanksgiving fellowship hour. We look forward to reflecting on what the Lord has been doing in the life of our church over the past year and for the past 60 years! Please make plans to come join us this Sunday.
We originally had planned to have a discussion during our fellowship hour regarding the future of our church and to hear the voices of the congregation. However, we thought it would be best for us to focus on just enjoying our time together and setting up a separate time of discussion in the future. Instead, the Steering Committee has prepared a financial update on how we are doing at WTUC, and so you can read more about that in our bulletin. Please continue to pray for the Lord to guide us as we seek to best serve as salt and light to our community in West Tokyo.
I am truly thankful that I have the true honor of being able to serve as your pastor. I am thankful for the love and care that each person is providing to all in the life of our church. May the Lord continue to help us grow in the image of Christ together and to share this love with our neighbors as we glorify God.
Have a wonderful rest of the week, and see you on Sunday!
Jonathan
