Christ, the selfless Savior

Hello, WTUC Family.

I hope that you had a good week. We are thankful to have gone through this week without too much trouble from a typhoon that was looming a little too closely to our area, and now, we’re really in the thick of the autumn season.

This coming Sunday, we will be gathering online via Zoom for our worship service. Rev. Dr. Tim Boyle will join us with the message “Our Spiritual ‘Anpanman’”. For those of you who may not know the friendly culinary superhero Anpanman, my daughters certainly know about him. It’s an impossibility for children growing up in Japan to NOT know about Anpanman. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the selfless Savior, giving of Himself for us, and there is a connection between the two. Just as a heads-up, on the following Sunday, October 19, Rev. Claudia Genung-Yamamoto will be joining us for worship as a part of our year-long 60th anniversary celebration at WTUC. Many of you may know “Pastor Claudia” as she is affectionately known at our church. She served for many years at WTUC and is now serving at our sister congregation, Yokohama Union Church.
